Books by Patrick Kelly


    I have found two books by Patrick Kelly.


   
    "THE SALLEY RING: AND OTHER POEMS" by Patrick Kelly, published 1941 by Browne and Nolan/Richview Press 1941.  I did not find this using 'WorldCat' but only by using 'google-books'.  I only found three copies on the Internet: one is in the USA, one is in Ireland, and one is in Germany.

UPDATE May 29, 2008:

   I have now found that "BALLADS", Dublin: Printed for the author, 1922, is also written by Mr. Kelly.  I had found this reference in my earlier web searches, but was really not sure if it was the same man or not.  In the book, "Poems From Connemara", the introduction by Mr. Tomas P. O'Neill states that it was written by this Mr. Kelly.  (See the pages below)

  I found references that his poems were printed in the "Irish Statesman" newspapers, as well as, the "Irish Press" newspapers.  I found that the Library of Congress has some, if not all, the "Irish Press" on microfilm.  There is also a company selling various but limited volumes of the "Irish Press" on the Internet.

    "POEMS FROM CONNEMARA" by Patrick Kelly, published 1977 by [s.l.:s.n.]  I found this in 10 libraries on the Internet, four in the USA, two in Ireland, and four in the UK.  I also found it for sale at one of the book sites.

UPDATE August 20, 2008:

    I was able to borrow the book "THE SALLEY RING" at my local library through "interlibrary loan" in June.  The book came from the University of Florida, USA.  I had emailed them, requesting if the book could be purchased.  They could not sell items from their collection, but have given me the results of their extensive research.  (Someone should create a bumper sticker that says: HUG YOUR LOCAL LIBRARIAN 'CUZ THEY DO GOOD THINGS FOR STRANGERS!)  I would really like to thank the research department at UFLIB, and C. Seale, for all of this work!  MUCH more than I was able to find!
